Community Living Kingston and District has developed a resource lending kit called Inclusion At Its Best. There are materials such as books, booklets, worksheets and DVDs for community organizations and groups to borrow. A staff member of Community Living Kingston and District is available to meet with organizations for a presentation at a meeting or a lunch and learn. Please contact Maria Victoria, 613.507.8460 x2226, if you wish to borrow any material or to arrange for a presentation. The Inclusion kit was developed thanks to a grant provided by The Community Foundation for Kingston and Area.

This procedure can be used by persons served, family members, students or volunteers, the general public, or by staff.
Any person who disputes a decision or practice of Community Living Kingston and District may formally complain to the organization and have that complaint heard in an expeditious manner.
It is the policy of Community Living Kingston that all Francophone individuals and families have the right to have services provided to them in French. Any reported complaint related to the delivery of French language services shall be promptly investigated.
Our Goal: That people with intellectual disabilities have every opportunity to participate fully in our community with dignity and independence.
By the act of the Board of Directors, Community Living Kingston and District instructs and directs all who speak in its name, including particularly representatives to Special Education Advisory Committees, and all personnel employed by Community Living Kingston, to further Community Living Kingston and District’s goals to the best of their ability.
The following general principles apply to the management and reimbursement of expenses. Expenses must:

Family involvement is the norm in this organization which began as a parents association. We support, we do not supplant, the family.
Community Living Kingston and District takes privacy issues related to service users, families, employees, volunteers and students very seriously.
In addition to established practices of dealing with personal health and other information in a sensitive manner, the organization is required by law to ensure that the collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal health information is carried out in accordance with established principles and requirements of Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004, S.O. 2004, c. 3, Schedule A (“PHIPA”)
Any person served by Community Living Kingston is entitled to the hearing of a complaint alleging a Rights violation on the part of Community Living Kingston.
